The French Bistro
French Bistro Kitchen Style
This kitchen is designed with the client’s passion for French bistros and vintage furniture in mind. The kitchen’s perimeter and island are hand-painted in an elegant powder blue-grey, while the pantry is painted black with bold brush strokes and worn-back details to mimic the look of vintage furniture. Unique features include delicate corbel details under the crown molding, a distinctively English touch, and charming apothecary drawers on either side of the LaCornue stove. The bead-board on the island’s back and sides brings an unpretentious, relaxed feel to the space. Antique-inspired mirrored doors on the pantry were a personal touch requested by the client, adding an old-world charm, and the gold accents—found in the black and gold LaCornue stove, as well as the hardware, faucets, and lighting—tie everything together, creating an inviting, rich ambiance that transports you to a chic French bistro in Paris.
The master en-suite vanity draws inspiration from an existing vintage cabinet in the client’s home. Custom doors with a raised center panel and beaded detailing were designed to match the client’s vision. Hand-painted in a heritage grey-green color with antique brass hardware, the vanity adds an elegant touch that flows seamlessly into the master bedroom and custom walk-in closet.
The mudroom exudes a warm, casual vibe, featuring a long wall of custom cabinetry painted in a rich red for maximum storage. The floor boasts an eye-catching tile pattern accented by pops of red, bringing the room together. Inside, there’s dedicated space for coats, boots, and even a convenient spot to hang your keys.
